This training is 10.5 hours in length; each day is 3.5 hours long.
The workshop must have a minimum of 25 paid participants. Registration fees will be refunded if the workshop is cancelled.
The workshop fee includes access to a curated set of instructional resources that address each of the critical components as informed by the Science of Reading: Phonological & Phonemic Awareness, phonics (decoding & encoding), vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.
Please Note: During the workshop, participants will review how state educational standards address the Science of Reading. In this current training, Texas’ educational standards, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) are utilized. Future trainings will also utilize the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). However, after comparing the TEKS to the CCSS, the TEKS include most of the same goals and objectives as the CCSS.
Accommodations: Automatic captioning via zoom is available throughout the training and all videos contain open captions. If you would like to request an interpreter, please contact me at least two weeks in advance of the first date of class. Requests made within 14 calendar days of the first day of class can not be guaranteed.
