Initial Online Visual Phonics Training
The next Visual Phonics training will be conducted over three Saturdays - Feb. 6, 13, 20 from 9:00-12:00 (Central Time).
General Info:
The class sessions will not be recorded and are only available at the scheduled dates and times. Participants must attend all three days to receive credit; partial credit will not be given.
This online class is conducted via Zoom. You will need an internet accessible, and audio and video -enabled device (such as a laptop computer, iPad or phone). A Zoom account is not needed to run Zoom or to participate.
This is a live, interactive workshop. The video on your device will need to be turned on to participate. This will allow me to check your production of the Visual Phonics handshapes and make sure your productions are accurate. You will not receive credit for the class if your video is off.
Attendance will be taken each session. To ensure you receive credit,
• please make sure your first and last name appears on the zoom screen. To change the name listed on your zoom screen, hover over the right corner of your name or login and you will see three horizontal dots. Click on those dots and it will give you the option to rename yourself. Please make sure your first and last name are both listed, and
• log in at least 5 minutes before class starts to make sure your device is ready to go and your attendance can be recorded.
Post-Workshop Video Submission: After the final session, each participant will record themselves producing the Visual Phonics handshapes and share the video with the presenter (via Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.). The presenter will view the video and provide feedback to each participant within one week of when the video was submitted. Once completed, you will receive a certificate of completion for your participation in the workshop.
Accommodations: Automatic captioning via MS PPT is available throughout the whole training, and all videos contain open captions. If you would like to request an interpreter, please contact me at least two weeks in advance of the first date of class.
